Please carefully review all category requirements below before submitting a music entry form. Submissions that fail to meet the listed requirements risk disqualification from the NJ State Teen Arts Festival nomination process. One form per performance is required. All entry forms are due by March 15, 2024.
Reminder: Adjudication slots open March 20, 2024. You will be able to sign up for your preferred adjudication slots on a first come, first serve basis.
Performances from each category listed will be selected to represent Cumberland and Cape May Counties at the NJ State Festival. Alternates for each county will also be selected in the event the nominee(s) is/are unable to attend the NJ State Teen Arts Festival.
CATEGORY GUIDELINES
VOCAL - SMALL GROUP
- Group size: 1-15 performers
- Performance length: maximum of 4 minutes
- Time limit per school: 20 minutes (~5 Small Group submissions per school)
- Students may not participate in more than one small group vocal ensemble
VOCAL - LARGE GROUP
- Group size: 16+ performers
- Performance length: maximum of 12 minutes
- Two or three selections at most per performance
- One large group vocal entry per school
INSTRUMENTAL - SMALL GROUP
- Group size: 1-15 performers
- Performance length: maximum of 4 minutes
- Time limit per school: 20 minutes (~5 submissions per school)
- Students may not participate in more than one small group instrumental ensemble
INSTRUMENTAL - LARGE GROUP
- Group size: 16+ performers
- Performance length: maximum of 15 minutes
- Two or three selections at most per performance
- One large group instrumental entry per school
PIANO
- Solo performance
- Maximum length of 4 minutes
- Time limit per school: 20 minutes (~5 Piano entries)
GUITAR
- Solo performance
- Maximum length of 4 minutes
- Time limit per school: 20 minutes (~5 Guitar entries)
