OVERVIEW

Learn first hand from professional, working artists with our festival's workshop series! Engage with artists and your peers as you learn Theatre, Dance, Creative Writing, Stage Combat, Sound Engineering, Filmography, and so much more.

Students are limited to 2-3 of these workshops, but don't worry.. there are plenty of pop up workshops to enjoy throughout the day! Please check your adjudication schedule to make sure nothing overlaps.

Writing For Open Mic: Poetry Writing & Presentation - Rebecca BonhamEverything poetry from creation to presentation! Join us for writing exercises, group review, and the opportunity to take the mic. Students should bring any poems previously written they’d like to read/review.
The Improv Lab - Austin SatinskyExplore your imagination and have a creative blast with improvisation! Learn the fundamentals of improv and begin to make strong, clear character choices in a supportive and FUN environment.
Dressing Your Character - Shaun LaurencioWhat is your character wearing and what does it say about them? Through this workshop, you too can learn to be a smart costumer, and build a fully realized costume.
Pine Basket Weaving - Romaine StreetStop by and watch in amazement while instructor Romaine Street weaves incredible pine baskets.
Paint Pen Graffiti - Gary LindleyThis pop-up style workshop will feature an opportunity to use paint pens to create designs inspired and influenced from graffiti and street art.
Jewelry - Andrea LombardoUnleash your creativity in this hands-on workshop where you'll learn the art of making beautiful, custom jewelry. From selecting beads and materials to mastering basic jewelry techniques, you'll create a unique piece to wear or gift
Loom Weaving - Third Star Fiber GuildStop by and watch in amazement while instructor Ellie Divito weaves incredible creations using a loom.
Headshots - Nerys MullerGetting your headshots done can definitely be nerve-wracking, but let’s tackle those fears together! Learn how to take the best photos you’ve ever seen. Through the discussion of lighting design, posing, and facial expression, we’ll get you picture perfect for your next audition. Not to mention, you can keep your photos, too!
Hip-Hop with @l3gacydance - Sam ChisholmGet ready to learn a fun combination, some great performance techniques, and practice your skills through the art of Hip Hop Dance!
Instrumental Jazz Improvisation - Earl PhillipsInstrumental Jazz 2
Breaking Into Character - Lea MatarazzoStudents will learn how to fully embody their characters when acting.

The Art of Face Painting - Christine CampbellLearn the basics of face painting in this fun, hands-on workshop! From simple designs to more intricate patterns, you'll discover essential techniques and tips to create stunning face art.
Bead/Polymer Bead Bracelets - El Zelinski - 123 CreateGet creative in this hands-on pop up where you'll learn to design and make stunning bead and polymer bead bracelets.
Yoga for Performers - Candice BernhardtLooking for a calm option during Teen Arts? ​​Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation for complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation; a guided meditation of consciousness between awake and asleep. Students will learn useful tools that will help them de-stress, re-focus, and get ready to perform as their true selves. The feeling of nesting is important in this kind of meditation so blankets, pillows, eye pillows, yoga mat, or blanket is a great idea-. anything to make yourself warm and comfortable.
Printmaking - Maryann CanonStop by and watch MaryAnn Canon ink small etching plates and hand pull the prints from a small etching press. Her process is the same as it was five hundred years ago, with a look of antique with a contemporary feel or subject matter.

Creative Writing: Poetry and Written Word - Alma PesiriThis workshop is to encourage the creativity within you - to help you easily express in words what you feel. It's to remind participants of the power of words for poetry, school projects, stories, and all the times you want to present yourself.
Stage Combat - Dominic Ciarrocchi & Sean McGarryIn this workshop, we’ll cover fundamental concepts like consent, partnering, and distance among others, leading up to the delivery of a safe stage punch and learning how to fall down safely after “taking a hit”. No need to bring anything but comfortable clothes and some water to stay hydrated.
Simple Book Form - Ellen Beth NappenExplore the art of bookbinding in this hands-on workshop! Learn how to create a basic, yet beautiful, book using simple techniques.
Ikebana - Mariko OnoDiscover the Japanese art of Ikebana, the delicate and meditative practice of floral arrangement. In this pop up you'll learn the principles of balance, harmony, and simplicity as you create your own beautiful floral designs.
Chalk Street Art - Helen ClymerStudents will create small pictorials on sidewalk squares. “I see I say” will encourage participants to paint EYES and surround those images with positive verbiage.
Face Painting - Polly PocketsTransform your look with vibrant and fun face painting at our pop-up event! Whether you want a playful design or something more intricate, the talented Polly Pockets will bring your vision to life.
Film Scoring, Recording, & Music Production - Nathan TerryDive into the world of film music in this immersive workshop! Learn the essentials of film scoring, recording techniques, and music production.
West African Dance - Deserea ByrdStudents will learn an energy packed routine full of contemporary West African dance movements.
Intro to Filmmaking - Dan PaianoThis video workshop will emphasize the importance of storytelling as well as technique when creating a successful video or film.
Personalized Mixed Media Bracelets - Gloria Gammage DavisGet creative in this hands-on workshop where you'll design your own personalized mixed media bracelets! Using a variety of materials like beads, charms, and fabric, you'll craft unique pieces that reflect your personal style.
Musical Theatre Dance/Tap - Olivia CruzAnd 5-6-7-8! Bring your tap shoes for this all level musical theatre dance class. This class will consist of a warm up, some helpful audition tips, and a fun combo everyone will enjoy!
